Making Research Guides with Joomla - 2007/05/31 18:34
Hi, I am very, very new to Joomla, and am attempting to create some research guides for my college library. The IT department installed Joomla, as well as an extension called Bookmarks, which is describes as a component to manage your links/bookmarks like Weblinks but with hierarchical multi-categories.
In theory, it sounded like the perfect thing for what I was trying to accomplish, because it allows me to link a a resource to both a subject (e.g. Art) and to its resource type (e.g. Online Database). The user can search by subject or resource type.
Unfortunately, if a user clicks on a subject, the only display option for the resources is alphabetical, which just won't work for what I need. What I would like is to sub sort the list by resource type within the subject list.
Does anyone have any suggestions as to how I can accomplish what I want?
Here is the site I'm testing: http://webbeta.albion.edu/library
Thanks for your any assistance you can give me!
