Hi my name is Ann - 2007/08/27 22:46 I work in a school where we used to have a library website, but the workload in maintaining it, then persuading the tekky guy to load the pages in a timely fashion just got too much. Joomla was suggested as a solution to my problem and it looks to be exactly what I need; if I can ever get my head around the technical aspects. Somehow Dreamweaver seemed so much easier. I am really pleased to see a site where library matters are discussed as I find commercial solutions to problems not really applicable.

Cheers
Ann

Re:Hi my name is Ann - 2007/08/28 00:33 Welcome to our community, Ann!

I agree Dreamweaver is a great tool. I use it to build and modify Joomla templates, modules, etc.

Please let us know if you have any specific question about Joomla!

Re:Hi my name is Ann - 2007/09/05 11:36 Ann I completely understand where you are coming from. I was hooked on Dreamweaver (still am - love the new CS3 version) and Joomla made me have to rethink things. Now it comes like 2nd nature to me to add something to any of our 4 Joomla sites. I don't claim to be an expert but I can certainly relate to the process of going from making html based web pages to setting things up in Joomla. If you ever want to ask me a question - please feel free. If I can't answer it I'll ask our web programmer who was the one who turned me onto Joomla.

Re:Hi my name is Ann - 2007/09/05 22:53 Thankyou very much for your kind offer. I am doing this in my 'spare' time with a student, so this is proving to be a long drawn out affair. I am however, looking to be able to load book reviews and reader responses and booktalks from me and the students, as well as all the usual library resources. The ability to manage these with a database instead of completely rewriting pages is what appeals.
Regards
Ann
