Drupal Article - 2007/07/08 14:01 I ran across this article today and was wondering what others know of the Ann Arbor District implementation of Drupal.

I wrote them an Email just now and hope to find out more about the project. The Web site is wonderful. I am very interested in the catalog features on the site. I have been working on a Joomla extension that would involve catalog (OPAC) features and am struggling in many ways. Specifically, I am trying to decide which way to go with the Z39.50 protocol. I have YAZ with ZAP, YAZ with YAZ/PHP, just downloaded and started playing with Pazpar2. I am really curious to know about XML/XSL processing of Z39.50 search results and what is the fastest method of painting the search results to the screen.

I would really like to know if anyone is developing OPAC features for Drupal or Joomla and what they are using to do so. I would also like more information about Drupals Z39.50 search module.

What do people think about Drupal as opposed to Joomla? I found Joomla to be much more accessible / friendly!

Thanks

Re:Drupal Article - 2007/07/17 15:15 I like the Ann Arbor site too, but I think it looks a little bit too much like a blog for my tastes.

Drupal is very powerful, and does some things better than Joomla, I think... but when I tried it I thought it was hard to use, and maybe unnecessarily complicated in parts.
