Blogs & access - 2007/07/08 12:52 Hi all,

I'm wondering how to enable comments on blog posts - I don't see anything like that anywhere. I want real blog functionality.

Also - where do I go to add to or edit the Access Levels?

Re:Blogs & access - 2007/07/08 13:47 Joomla is known for its lack of a better hierarchy of users and users rights. Future versions are addressing this problem. You could have people register at your site and leave comments from within the core install of Joomla but I would suggest installing one of the Joomla extensions such as JomComment, JReaction or install the Mambo Blog extension.

I've been using JomComment for a few months and am happy with the flexibility and functionality. The downside to JomComment is that you must purchase this extension. This, of-course, opens the bag of worms that is the talk on the Internet about Joomla and the GPL.

Hope this is helpful?

Re:Blogs & access - 2007/07/08 21:25 Hi Nicole,
I use AkoComment on my own domain and J!Reactions on another website. You can find them here: http://extensions.joomla.org/index.php?option=com_mtree&task=listcats&cat_id=1764&Itemid=35

Re:Blogs & access - 2007/07/14 14:24 I installed the J!Reactions one - but I'm having some problems figuring it out - partially cause I don't have much time - I'll poke some more and see if I can figure it out.

As for user levels - What does Special mean? Where do I change what special means? Or can I not do that?
