I was looking for a simple way to embed Tom Gilson’s radio interview in a press release - "Legislation Affecting Libraries". And I found one.
I was pleased with the Mambot/Plugin which does exactly what I want it to do. It is also customizeable - you can assign color values to customize the look-and-feel of your MP3 player.
Installation was painless:
- Install the Mambot in Joomla Administrator Control Panel
- Publish the Mambot (Customize the color scheme of the Player if you like)
- On your web server, create a folder called "mp3" under the Root of your Joomla website.
- Copy your MP3s into the folder you created.
- Embed your MP3 file in your content using the following code - {audio}/mp3/your_audio.mp3/{/audio}
- Voila!!! (Don't forget to celebrate your accomplishment
 )
I haven't discovered any major bugs yet. However, I wasn't able to view the player on my BlackBerry, which could simply mean that I need to install Adobe Flash Player on my Mobile Browser. I haven't tested it to see if the player is accessible for people who are using assisstive technologies, such as, JAWs.
P.S. Any Al Green fans out there? I'm a big fan of "Let's Stay Together".
