after a year of planning and development, we finally launched our new joomla based website for our library system.
I had to program some custom modules to do some of the things we were looking for, but maybe the most powerful is our semi integration into our library catalogue system (Horizon) Patrons are able to select their library and have the hours and info put front and center, along with proving them a method to search the catalogue and properly form urls to access search results, access their account, and place holds.
our events calendar is also customized with the staff being able to post items in our intranet and the events being posted to the website. I didn't want to give access to joomla to all the staff that we have.especially with 96 locations.
another big feature is our top 20 lists. This lists are built based on circulation directly from our catalog.
